Description
I make this guacamole at least once a week all summer long, and the bowl never lasts more than ten minutes. It is creamy, fresh, a little tangy, with just enough kick to keep everyone reaching for more chips. No fancy steps, no weird add-ins — just ripe avocados, lime, and a few things you already have. This easy 5-minute party dip is perfect for watch parties, cookouts, and game day gatherings.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1/2 small red onion, finely diced
- 1 Roma tomato, seeded and diced
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 to 2 limes, juiced
- 1 garlic clove, finely grated
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Halve the avocados, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
- Add the lime juice immediately to help keep the avocado green.
- Use a fork to mash the avocado to your desired texture.
- Fold in the red onion, tomato, jalapeño, cilantro, grated garlic, and salt.
- Stir gently until everything is evenly combined.
- Taste and adjust with more lime juice, salt, or jalapeño if desired.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips or your favorite toppings.
Notes
Choose ripe avocados that yield to gentle pressure. Lime juice helps prevent browning and adds flavor. For parties, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface before refrigerating. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
