Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add eggs, butter, remaining sugar, salt, and vanilla. Mix well, then gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Roll dough into a large rectangle. Spread butter over the surface and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll into a log, shape into a ring, and place on a lined baking sheet. Cover and rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown. Cool before icing.
