Description
Bold, zesty, and customizable, this homemade jalapeño salt adds real pepper heat and vibrant flavor to anything from tacos to margarita rims.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 to 4 fresh jalapeño peppers
- 1 cup coarse kosher salt or flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Wash and dry jalapeños. Slice thinly, removing seeds for less heat if preferred.
- Dry slices at 200°F for 2–3 hours or until fully crisp. Alternatively, air-dry overnight or use a dehydrator.
- Add dried jalapeños and salt to a spice grinder or food processor. Pulse until well mixed.
- Transfer to an airtight jar and store in a cool, dry place.
Notes
Use coarse salt for best texture and visual appeal. Fine salt works too but will yield a smoother blend.
