  • Red heart-shaped candies
  • Green sprinkles or edible glitter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and prepare your cake pans.
  2. Prepare cake batter according to box instructions. Mix in green gel food coloring until desired hue is achieved.
  3. Pour batter evenly into pans and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Cool cakes completely on wire racks.
  5. In a bowl, beat softened butter until fluffy. Add powdered sugar, cream, vanilla, and salt. Beat until smooth. Tint with green food coloring.
  6. Level cake layers. Place one on a cake stand, frost, and top with second layer. Frost the entire cake.
  7. Decorate with red heart candies, green sprinkles, and any other festive toppings.
  8. For caramel drizzle: melt 1 cup sugar in saucepan until amber-colored, add 6 tablespoons butter, then 1/2 cup cream. Stir until smooth. Let cool slightly before drizzling over cake.
