Description

Soft, gooey, and packed with flavor, these three cinnamon roll variations — pumpkin, caramel, and chocolate — are perfect for any occasion. Each version brings a unique twist to the classic treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls:
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • ½ cup pumpkin purée
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • Caramel Cinnamon Rolls:
  • Same dough as classic cinnamon rolls
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup butter
  • ¾ cup caramel sauce (plus extra for topping)
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Chocolate Cinnamon Rolls:
  • Same dough as classic cinnamon rolls
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ¾ cup mini chocolate chips
  • Chocolate glaze for drizzling
  • Frosting Options:
  • Cream cheese frosting
  • Maple glaze
  • Chocolate ganache

Instructions

  1. Make the Dough: In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Mix in pumpkin purée (for pumpkin rolls), sugar, egg, and melted butter. Add flour and spices, then knead until smooth. Let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  2. Prepare Fillings: Mix respective ingredients for pumpkin, caramel, or chocolate filling in a bowl.
  3. Roll and Fill: Roll dough into a rectangle, spread with filling of choice. Roll tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  4. Caramel Version: Pour caramel sauce in the bottom of the baking dish and sprinkle with nuts before placing rolls on top.
  5. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise 30 minutes. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Frost: Let cool slightly and top with frosting of choice: cream cheese, maple glaze, or chocolate ganache.

Notes

Make rolls ahead of time and refrigerate overnight to bake fresh in the morning. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for later.
