Description

These cozy, cinnamon-spiced Baked Apple Fritters with Glaze deliver all the goodness of classic fritters—soft centers, golden edges, and sweet vanilla glaze—without the oil or mess of frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup diced apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji recommended)
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Peel, core, and dice apples into small cubes. Toss with a touch of cinnamon.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together egg, sugar, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
  5. Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined, then fold in the apples.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the baking sheet, spaced apart.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden and puffed.
  8. Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze.
  9. Drizzle glaze over warm fritters. Optional: glaze again once set for a thicker topping.

Notes

These are perfect for December brunch or cozy winter mornings. To reheat, pop in the microwave for 10 seconds or air fryer for 2 minutes. Freeze up to 2 months—glaze after thawing.
